Vintage Machinery
Rick has a very large shed. Even so, he would like to have one twice the size. Rick likes collecting interesting and useful tools and machines, especially those from earlier times. In his shed you can discover an array of artefacts that Rick will delight in showing you as he explains their history and purpose.
Rick enjoys restoring vintage machinery. Admire his 1927 Lister D stationary engine, or ask him to give you a demonstration of his mobile ‘Pop’s Workshop’, in which he has mounted the power tools which were hand-made by Lynlie’s father in the 1930’s, during the Depression years. You can also see the band-saw made by Lynlie’s father using the hubs of a Model T Ford. Now, somewhere in the shed there used to be the steering column of a Bren gun carrier...
If you haven’t had enough of vintage machines after being in Rick’s shed, we are usually able to arrange for you to visit the shed of our neighbour, who restores very old International Harvester and Allis Chalmers tractors and farm machinery. His collection is all in running order and is beautifully presented and displayed.
