Relax and unwind in Fallowfield, our clean, warm and fully-equipped self-catering hillside chalet with its own unique panoramic views. Or visit ‘Reflections’, our studio-style beachside cottage at Coromandel’s tiny east coast settlement of Whiritoa, only 45 min drive from Katikati.

Children and adults alike enjoy the quiet animals on our farmlet and are welcome to help with daily or seasonal farm activities such as collecting fresh-laid eggs, feeding the hens and farm animals, looking for olives, or picking your own citrus fruit for breakfast.

Explore Rick’s small collection of vintage tools and machinery and other similar ‘treasures’. Perhaps arrange to visit the nearby collection of beautifully restored Allis Chalmers tractors and farm machinery beautifully restored by our neighbour.

Get up close and personal with the glowworms on one of our popular night-time expeditions and learn about the interesting life of these incredible creatures. You’ll be enchanted by the fairytale illuminations.

Stop and look at the outdoor art in Katikati Mural Town where more than forty superb murals depict the area's past and present, and meet Barry, the town's most 'permanent' resident. Walk the Haiku Trail beside the river to discover poets’ impressions of the area carved on the boulders alongside the pathway. Take the twenty-minute tramp to the Springs Road Kauri and experience the deep silence surrounding this immense tree of over 800 years old—Lynlie is always happy to be your guide if you prefer.

Jacaranda Cottage is close to bush tramps, an 18-hole golf course, thermal pools, arts and crafts, the Katikati Bird Gardens, Morton Estate Winery, restaurants. It is also handy for harbour or ocean beaches, horse-trekking, the spectacular Karangahake Gorge, and the old gold-mining town of Waihi.

Katikati is a good base for Bay of Plenty and Coromandel sightseeing, or simply relax in the tranquil surroundings of Jacaranda Cottage.
